Exceptional IK classification

The IK-­Klas­si­fi­zie­rung is an in­ter­na­tio­na­l standard, which specifies the suitability of electrical operating equipment for different applications. The IK-­Code (In­ter­na­tio­nal Stan­dard IEC 62262:­2002 and IEC 60068-­2-­75:­1997) klas­si­fi­zes the protection ge­gen me­cha­ni­s force­ein­wir­kung, the shock­fes­tig­tig­degree.

The test with a pen­del­ham­mer according to EN 60068-­2-­75 er­mög­makes it possible for Designplan to post­fully­draw­bar the impact­fes­tig­ness­of the luminaires. Designplan believes that the of­fi­ci­el­le en­de of the ska­la (20Joule/IK10) is not an­adequately­sufficient, to meet the requirements of the me­cha­ni­s in many pro­jec­ts. For example, Designplan has increased the ska­la above­half to 250 joules (IK20) and can also prove this with the "pendulum hammer test". Products from Designplan thus proven to have an IK degree of protection between IK10 and IK20.
