In power electronics, it is particularly important in industrial applications to consider the conditions under which the component is used. For example, heat sink designs must be individually optimized to maximize cooling performance and protect other components—even in particularly confined spaces, in high humidity, or in dusty environments.

While certain components can often be used for decades, the systems in which they are employed can have an even longer service life. That’s why it sometimes happens that, for example, a locomotive needs a replacement part that has long since been discontinued. In such cases, we can assist directly or through one of our partners by providing a custom-made part or a suitable replacement.

During this long period of time, it can happen that replacement components such as current sensors are no longer available. Together with ABB, Elektron has implemented a customer-specific solution for SZU based on the CS2000 sensor.
