FAQ about Interact City

OLC

How can I pick an OLC?

Procedure for commissioning the lights:

  • Pick markers
  • Assign calendar
  • Check/adjust switching mode type

Procedure for commissioning a connector kit:

  • Create a focal point in Interact
  • Save luminaire type in focal point
  • Pick marker and link to focal point
  • Attention: Check whether "DALI" is stored as a dimming interface for the luminaire type in the component catalog
  • Assign calendar
  • Check/adapt switching mode type
What happens to the OLCs when the mobile connection to the OLC is interrupted?

If the OLC remains installed without mobile communication

  • The last defined dimming calendar and switching mode remain in the OLC and continue to be executed
  • Date and time are transmitted via GPS, no communication to the backend is required for this
  • The GPS connection is maintained even if the OLC is deactivated

When the OLC is removed

  • Light goes to the profile in the driver, if no DD programming has been carried out, this is permanently 100%
  • No dimming profiles are stored in the driver by the OLC, the intelligence always remains in the OLC
What exactly is the location of the OLC?

About 3 m, however, as usual with GPS, this depends on environmental factors (mountains, houses, bridges, etc.) and can fluctuate greatly.

How much energy does the OLC require in standby mode?

The OLC requires less than 0.5W in stand-by mode. During the day, the light including the OLC is switched off completely, so consumption varies depending on the time of year.

How high is the radiation exposure of the OLC?

Our lights communicate via the 4G (CAT-M1) mobile radio standard that has been in use for years. Information is exchanged with the luminaire once per night, which usually takes a few seconds. We also fulfill all standards according to 2014/53/EU. Further details and all certificates can be found in the data sheet on the last page.

How often is the OLC updated?

On average, the OLC is updated every six months.

How does coexistence with sensors from other manufacturers?

When there is movement, the light always goes to 100%. The dimming calendar, which is stored on Interact City, serves as the basic level, i.e. the dimming level without movement.

What happens when a light fixture is dismantled and reinstalled at a later date? E.g., at a construction site.

A fault appears in Interact City. As soon as the luminaire is reconnected, the fault disappears within the next few days. If the connection in the system has not been canceled, the dimming calendar and user switching mode type are applied again.</p

If the OLC is replaced, the replacement process must be carried out via the ServiceTag.

How long does the transfer take?

As a rule, the dimming calendar is updated one night as soon as a connection to the OLC has been established. For safety reasons, we recommend entering special calendars in the system at least two nights in advance.

How long does it take for a malfunction to appear in the system?

After 36 hours without communication, an event is triggered. After a further 16 hours without communication, the fault is triggered. So a total of 52h without communication.

Can external lights be implemented in the system?

Yes, all common manufacturers are certified, the luminaire data is automatically recorded in Interact City. If the OLC does not automatically output the data, please contact the manufacturer. They can enter the data into the system.

Multisensor

How do I store the dimming values?

When movement is detected, the light switches to the predefined "Light on" value. This can be stored in Interact City. The basic level is the stored dimming calendar. We therefore recommend creating a special dimming calendar for motion-dependent luminaires.

Which values can be adjusted in Interact City?
    • Light on level (level on movement)
    • Sensitivity
    • Follow-up time
    • Speed limit
    • Direction (any or approching)
How can I customize the multisensor groups?

Currently, this is only possible via the app on site.

Our lighting service team will be happy to answer your questions quickly and competently.
