Sustainability in public lighting

We are taking bold steps forward - successfully launched in 2021, all our street lights have been available in a climate-friendly version since 2022

We are boldly leading the way. Since 2021, we have been the first company in the industry to offer our customers the opportunity to reduce the carbon footprint of their luminaires when they purchase them. In addition to our customers' contribution, we are also committed to reforestation in Guinea together with the Swiss non-profit company Arborise.

Many cities and municipalities have been committed to a sustainable climate and energy policy for years. In the area of street lighting in particular, the use of LED lights and intelligent control systems has made it possible to save a lot of energy and thus make an important contribution to environmental policy. In 2021, we went one step further and launched the Luma, the first climate-friendly street light on the market.

The support of our customers has motivated us to continue on this path. Since 2022, you have been able to purchase all our street lights with a CO2 certificate. CO2 offsetting is carried out in partnership with myclimate.

Climate friendly - how does it work?

With low additional costs per luminaire, you are responsible for all CO2 emissions - from production to transportation and disposal. To this end, we have had myclimate determine the PFC (Product Carbon Footprint) of the streetlights and, in cooperation with myclimate, enable you to support CO2 reduction in climate protection projects.

Join the more than 70 Swiss municipalities and energy supply companies that are setting an example together with us.

myclimate carbon offset project

To ensure that CO2 reduction is transparent, we work closely with our partner myclimate. All contributions go in full to the myclimate foundation.

Because the francs invested in Madagascar have an even greater impact than in Switzerland, around two-thirds of the climate protection contributions go to the project:  Sustainable development through solar stoves for Madagascar.

Because a contribution in Switzerland is also important to us, around a third goes to the project: Climate-adapted forest management in the Zofigen region, Switzerland.

We have decided to do something for the environment in addition to our customers' contribution. Together with the Swiss non-profit company Arborise, we are committed to reforestation in Guinea.
