New Chairman of the Board of Directors of ELEKTRON AG
Au, ZH - The Swiss technology company ELEKTRON AG has a new Chairman and a new Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. They are Kurt Lüscher and Stephanie Züllig, two very experienced and successful leaders. They succeed Peter Schärer and Andreas Kleeb, who are stepping down after many years of meritorious service. ELEKTRON AG is proud and pleased to have gained these two extremely competent specialists for the Board of Directors. It is thus specifically strengthening its expertise in the areas of renewable energies, digitalization and sustainability.
The CEO of ELEKTRON, Enrico Baumann, has already been involved in the company's Board of Directors for eight years and is looking forward to working with Stephanie Züllig and Kurt Lüscher: "It makes me very proud that we have been able to win over two such high-caliber personalities for our company in Stephanie Züllig and Kurt Lüscher. It is an honor for me to be able to lead ELEKTRON into the future with the two of them."
Kurt Lüscher, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, is a proven leader who is very well known and networked in the energy and telecommunications industries. Under his leadership, "Energie 360°" developed from a classic energy supplier into an innovative and profitable group of companies. Prior to that, Kurt Lüscher worked as a marketing and sales-oriented manager in companies such as UBS, Swisscom, Telefónica and Sunrise. Today, as an active member of the board of directors, he supports various companies and start-ups in their further development. He is also the initiator and organizer of the legendary "Smart Energy Party". As Chairman of the Board of Directors, he will be committed to ensuring that ELEKTRON can successfully expand its position in the market.
Stephanie Züllig, new Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, is a dedicated entrepreneur and multiple board member with a proven track record. She has successfully developed the business in the industrial and infrastructure environment during more than 17 years at Siemens. As a former business leader of the EMEA region, she has demonstrated international sales and leadership skills and helped shape digital transformation worldwide. In her current mandates, she is responsible, among other things, for the strategic planning and implementation of sustainable, future-oriented projects using new technologies. Stephanie Züllig was awarded the global Digital Female Leader Award in 2019 for her career. A further award followed in 2020 as Female Digital Innovator. As the new Vice President, she will make valuable contributions to ELEKTRON's strategic and digital development.
An era comes to an end
With the departure of two long-standing members of the Board of Directors, an era also came to an end at the Annual General Meeting. Peter Schärer had started his career 53 years ago as a sales engineer at ELEKTRON. Thanks to his dedicated manner and his wide-ranging expertise, he gradually rose through the ranks of the company and finally became Managing Director of ELEKTRON in 2001. Four years later, he moved to the Board of Directors, which he chaired from 2013 to 2021. Peter Schärer has decided to enter a well-deserved retirement. He will remain with ELEKTRON as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Welfare Fund. Andreas Kleeb strengthened the Board of Directors as Vice Chairman for about 10 years. The experienced and successful IT entrepreneur has played a key role in shaping ELEKTRON's strategy. He has, for example, supported structural changes that have enabled ELEKTRON to embark on its journey into a digital world in recent years. "Thanks to their experience and strategic skills, Peter Schärer and Andreas Kleeb have played a key role in shaping the success of our company over many years. We thank them both for their commitment and wish them all the best for the future," says CEO Enrico Baumann.
