AGROLA relies on ELEKTRON for solar storage tanks
Farm's own consumption doubled by solar storage
Thanks to the collaboration with AGROLA and ELEKTRON, Dorian Freire's farm uses its roof surfaces for sustainable energy. With a photovoltaic system and solar storage, the farm is more independent of the grid and future-oriented. The project illustrates how agriculture and solar technology can promote energy efficiency and sustainability.

Just before the Rhone flows into Lake Geneva, the municipality of Rennaz VD and the "Ferme du Châtelet" are on the right. Young farmer Dorian Freire grows crops there on his uncle's farm, including for the direct sale of potatoes and onions.
His farm has huge, sunny roof areas, which now produce a lot of electricity thanks to an installation from AGROLA. The roof areas are divided into a large PV system with direct feed-in to the grid and a medium-sized system for the farm's own consumption.
The original plan was to rent out the roof areas, but Dorian Freire has now decided to drive the project forward himself and has chosen a very experienced solar partner in AGROLA.
To ensure that the solar power can be used regardless of the position of the sun, AGROLA has installed a hybrid inverter with 50 kW and a solar storage unit with around 99 kWh. This doubles the company's own consumption and significantly increases its independence from grid power and reimbursement.
Why did AGROLA choose a battery system from ELEKTRON for this project?
Dominique Imhof, Head of Region West, AGROLA AG, explains why:
- We were looking for a competent system supplier in Switzerland and came across ELEKTRON.
- We were completely convinced by the modularity of the storage system, which means that even medium to large installations can be easily implemented with standard components.
- Our customers require a stable and reliable overall system that can be easily monitored remotely.
