3,000 kilometers – powered only by the sun
aCentauri is building a solar car that will travel across Australia powered solely by energy from the sun. This means maximum efficiency, precise energy management, sophisticated power electronics, clever drive technology, and intelligent energy storage. What happens on the roof in Switzerland becomes a high-performance stage at aCentauri: the same principles – only with over 3,000 kilometers of asphalt, desert heat, and the excitement of racing on top.
The next Bridgestone World Solar Challenge will take place from August 24 to 31, 2025 – earlier than usual and at the end of the Australian winter. Less sunlight will present the teams with new challenges and demand maximum energy efficiency.
The route covers 3,000 km from Darwin to Adelaide, across deserts, the outback, and the heart of Australia.
