Special ownership structure
Elektron's special ownership structure is also crucial to the company's long-term success. The owner is the patronage welfare fund. It attaches great importance to social responsibility.

In an interview to mark Elektron's 70th anniversary, former Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors Hans-Peter Geier explains that the recipe for success includes treating employees with care.
As early as the 1970s, Elektron established various social institutions for its employees. For example, the welfare foundation, the company's own pension fund with considerable benefits for employees. It existed long before the BVG made the 2nd pillar compulsory. In addition, a staff restaurant was set up early on and employees were able to accumulate personal assets - including with profit-sharing bonuses and personal savings accounts with preferential interest rates.

The Swiss headquarters of Elektron is located in Au, Wädenswil near Zurich. Another location is in Bern.
Our subsidiary in the Lighting division, Elektron Austria, has its headquarters in Vienna.
