Heat pipes

Heat pipes

Application areas and advantages at a glance

Heatpipes are particularly suitable for performing fast spot deheating at full power. They are also used wherever power electronics are used in a small area in converters or similar housings and must be protected against dust and moisture.

  • Fast spot deheating for full performance
  • Ideal for heat dissipation in tight mounting situations
  • Great design freedom and flexibility by increasing the number of heat pipes
  • High lifetime is achieved by selecting qualified heatpipes Working temperature range up to 275°C
  • Use down to -40°C possible

How do heat pipes work?

Compared to conventional cooling solutions, heat is absorbed via copper heatpipes in the case with heatpipe technology. Inside the heat pipes, cooling liquid heats up, evaporates and rises with the contained thermal energy. At the other end, the heat is released to the outside via the fins and the liquid condenses. The condensate returns via the capillaries inside the heat pipes and the cooling process starts anew.

The way it works makes the cooling solution very sustainable, as no additional energy source is needed. The specific design also provides more dissipation surface and makes heat exchange much more efficient than conventional solutions.
